In this video we take a walk along Ligovsky Prospekt in St. Petersburg (Russia). Our walk will start from Nevsky Prospekt and end at the Obvodny Canal.
/// Ligovsky Prospekt is one of the main streets of St. Petersburg, it stretches from Nekrasov Square to the Moscow Gate. The avenue is older than St. Petersburg itself - the Novgorod Trade Route existed here long before the construction of St. Petersburg began. The avenue is almost six kilometers long. In the years of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, Ligovsky Prospekt was the outskirts of the city, inhabited mainly by the bourgeois class and working people. There were no magnificent palaces, theaters, or luxurious restaurants here. In the 20s - 30s of the last century, and in the postwar period, Ligovsky Prospekt was considered criminal. However, now it is quite a safe and comfortable place in the city center.
