Exploring walking tour live English Prospekt (English Avenue or "Angliysky Prospekt"). The street in the historic city center of St Petersburg, Russia which goes from the Embankment of Moyka River to the Embankment of Fontanka river.
English Prospekt named after the English Embankment of St Petersburg, the settlements of mostly English merchants in the city.
From 1918 to 1994 it was renamed to Maklin Prospekt (Maclean Avenue), after John Maclean, of the heads of the British Socialist Party. Since 1994 the original historic name was return to the avenue.
