This garden in the heart of Saint Petersburg is one of the rarest monuments of landscape architecture of the 18th - first third of the 19th centuries, which is a unique combination of two different styles of landscape art on one territory – French and English. It is also a striking example of the architectural unity of the building (Mikhailovsky Palace) and the natural landscape (Mikhailovsky Garden), created according to the plan of the great architect Carlo Rossi.
